Massive Donation Drive, Hearts For Healthcare Heroes, Benefiting Children’s Mercy Hospital, Kicks Off

Kansas City, MO, Friday, January 6, 2023 -- Jana Jeffery, team leader, Royal Fox Network announces a massive donation drive, Hearts for Healthcare Heroes, benefiting Children’s Mercy Hospital in downtown Kansas City, MO. Launched in 2022, this drive provides much needed self-care items, snacks and drinks for healthcare workers to show our appreciation and support for the work they do for our community. Doctors, nurses and support staff across the nation are struggling to cope with the long hours and the emotional toll from waves of RSV, COVID patients, and our typical winter-time flu. This year our young folks were hit especially hard with RSV while shortages of critical care staff continue to plague local and national hospitals and facilities. DID YOU KNOW?Children’s Mercy Kansas City staff makes up around 2% of Kansas City’s population. How’d we find out? The hospital staffs over 8,000 employees who provide lifesaving care to the children of the Kansas City metro-area, which had a population of 508,394 (2021). It’s clear through the numbers just how valuable these members are to our community. Opened in 1903 with just 5 beds, the hospital has grown substantially to accommodate 386 beds today. According to AHD.com, Children’s Mercy KC discharged a total of 11,779 patients in just 2021.
